The First Last is an Australian bridal house creating gowns for the modern minimalist bride — the woman who places fashion at the forefront of her wedding day and seeks something refined, effortless and enduring.
Founded by designer Uisce Archbold, the brand is the culmination of a lifelong devotion to couture. That devotion began with a childhood sketch of Audrey Hepburn’s iconic Givenchy gown from Sabrina, igniting an early fascination with elegance, precision and craftsmanship. Uisce went on to study Fashion Design at the Whitehouse Institute of Design, graduating in 2011, where bridal and couture became her natural focus and a distinct design language began to take shape — one informed by ancient architecture, historical fashion and a deep appreciation for structure and proportion.
With over a decade of experience across the fashion industry — working as a bridal stylist, interning at Vogue, establishing her own ready-to-wear namesake label, designing for international brands, and travelling globally in design and production roles — her perspective has been shaped by both creative and technical mastery. After years of refinement, and alongside embarking on her most meaningful creation of all — motherhood — the time came to bring The First Last to life.
Guided by the philosophy that less is more, the house is defined by modern sophistication, impeccable fit and luxurious fabrication. Architectural lines meet soft femininity; thoughtful simplicity becomes the statement. Each gown is designed to feel both contemporary and timeless — a subtle nod to the past while remaining grounded in the present.
